Yes - I did indeed perform and record my own interpretation of the Hamster Dance Song for this.
Pizza! Cats! THE INTERNET!
This one is SPECIAL. And it’s out now!!
Listen and share, for the world must know:
….that pizza was the very first item ever bought and sold online!
…that approximately 1% of all internet activity revolves around adorable cat photos and videos!
…that cats collectively improve the collective mental health of internet denizens!
…that the internet itself is a weapon of mass destruct—wait, wha…?
While some of these facts may not be objectively quantifiable or independently verifiable (which is why we didn’t quote them on the actual episode - there is a lot of unverifiable information out there on the web, whew!), it's undeniable that cats and pizza have become iconic symbols of the worldwide web.
So that’s what this episode is about. We were lucky to consult with Roberta's Pizza alumni and renowned pizza consultant Anthony Falco and writer, editor and author of the viral essay “How Cats Won the Internet”, Maria Bustillos to back up our anointment of cats as THE mascot of the internet.
We also did a LOT of learnin’ on the history of the internet. Check out the show notes to appreciate how much info we had to sift. This could have been a 10 hour episode.
Anyway - we hope you love this episode! Next one drops February 13th.
We love you! Thank you so much!
