The team are grateful to be in a position to produce a whole podcast amidst these increasingly unsettling and dramatically destabilized times - in which the worst, most incompetent people in the world (who would have been PIP’d out of any normal job!) are somehow leading the WORLD.
I’d say these are unprecedented times, but based on our research it seems like we’re in another cycle driven by forces beyond our individual control. I take small comfort with the knowledge that somehow - during times of famine, war, genocide, natural disasters and personal tragedy - a significant quorum of humans showed up enough to get us and our fur families through these awful times. The collective effort of those everyday rebels who said, “No, that’s not ok with me” to interrupt hurtful and harmful behaviors by those most close to them. Those who sacrificed their privilege for the greater good. They who built or influenced systems towards more humane, sustainable practices. Those with more who gave to less. Folks of all races, religions, abilities and genders. All global and local disruptors working in parallel on the sides of compassion, care - and even an undying belief in the existence and persistence of beauty in this world.It is how it was and will be.
It doesn’t happen passively. It’s not just one person. It’s not just one time, or all the time.
In our small way, we make this podcast to broadcast knowledge and insights that connect us to ourselves and each other. And more materially, here are some timely and relevant resources below. They may be helpful to the vulnerable members of your communities navigating:
